EPAM is a software engineering and IT services firm: its own annual report describes core engineering, consulting, experience design and cybersecurity work rather than back-office process outsourcing. Most of its revenue comes from time-and-materials contracts billed at hourly, daily or monthly rates, so the commercial model is a standing team you rent rather than a fixed-scope project. Its largest delivery locations are India, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and Mexico, and it reports five main verticals: financial services, consumer goods, retail and travel, software and hi-tech, business information and media, and life sciences and healthcare.

Strengths and trade-offs
- Delivery scale is large and published: approximately 56,650 delivery professionals as of 30 June 2026, including about 12,200 in India, 8,750 in Ukraine and 5,050 in Poland at 31 December 2025.
- Client relationships tend to run long, which matters for managed services: EPAM reports 64.4% of 2025 revenue came from clients of at least five years' standing and 35.7% from clients of ten years or more.
- About a fifth of delivery staff sit in Ukraine and Belarus (roughly 8,750 and 3,400 at 31 December 2025), and EPAM's annual report states the war in Ukraine has had and could continue to have a material adverse effect on its operations, so buyers with strict continuity requirements need delivery locations written into the contract.
