Most online fax plans cost about $7 to $40 a month. Fax.Plus starts at $6.99 a month billed annually and Nextiva vFAX at $7.95, while eFax Personal is $18.99 a month. Plans that include a BAA usually cost more, such as eFax Business at $39.99 a month.
How do I choose an online fax service?
Start with your monthly page volume, the number of users and whether you handle health or financial records that need a BAA. Compare overage rates too, which run from 3 cents a page on Nextiva vFAX to 10 cents on eFax Personal. Teams already on a business phone system should check RingCentral Fax or Nextiva vFAX first.
What is the best online fax service for small business?
Fax.Plus suits most small businesses, with a free plan, a $6.99 entry plan billed annually and a five-member Business plan. Small healthcare offices should look at WestFax, which includes a signed BAA on its $14.99 Solo plan, or Documo, which includes HIPAA compliance on every plan.
Is online fax better than a fax machine?
For most offices, yes: online fax removes the dedicated phone line, paper and toner, and lets staff send and receive faxes from email, a browser or a phone. Services such as eFax and iFax deliver faxes as PDFs to an inbox instead of leaving pages on a shared machine. Email-to-fax is one feature of these services, not a separate product, so you still need a fax number and plan.
Which online fax services are HIPAA compliant?
WestFax and Documo include HIPAA compliance on every plan and sign a BAA. eFax offers a BAA on its Business and Corporate plans, Fax.Plus only on Enterprise, and Concord Technologies serves larger healthcare organisations with HITRUST CSF certification. A service is only suitable for patient records once a signed BAA is in place.
